What is the Deductible Tab

Last Updated: 7/2/2025

The Deductible Tab is located in the mod file and is used to modify the Deductible Report located in Core Reports.

In the Deductible Tab you can customize different deductible scenarios.  You can enter your accounts current deductible, indicate whether or not the claims have been already reduced by that amount, and then calculate alternate mod values based on different deductible options.

Please note that the dedectible report is always available, but will not always show a reduced mod value based on calculation rules.  The rating bureau have specific rules per state that determine whether or not a deductible can reduce the reported claim amount on a bureau report.  These states are categorized as Gross vs Net Reporting States.  Only Net Reporting states allow the reduced claim amount to appear on a burea report and be used in experience rating.

The following are net reporting states:  Alabama, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Missouri, New Mexico, Oklahoma and South Carolina.

In summary if you have a $25,000 claim and the account has a $2,500 deductible a Gross Reporting state will show the $25,000 amount on the bureau report but the Net Reporting State will show $22,500.  This reduced claim is what is used in the calculation which also reduces the experience mod.
