What are Custom Description 1 and 2 on the Claims Screen
On the claims page there are two columns labeled Custom Description 1 and Custom Description 2. You’ll notice that they have an edit pencil in the header row. This pencil allows you to customize the name of that column on the claim screen. Whatever name you enter will also display on the Custom Description 1 and 2 Reports.
The purpose of these two fields was to allow individual custom grouping for claims.
The description can be updated at the individual file level or globally for an individual user.
Here’s how it works.
If you want to create a default name for the column description this can be done by setting this up in your user profile.
Navigate to your User Profile.
- In the profile menu you’ll notice two fields for Custom Description 1 and Custom Description 2.
- Update the default text to whatever you want. The text you enter here will be displayed as the new column name and report name and will be the default value shown throughout Mod Advisor.
- Click UPDATE to save changes
NOTE: If you do not create a label, they will display as Custom Description 1 and Custom Description 2 on claims table. You can hide them from the table by toggling them off in the Columns Settings.
Here is an image of where they are located in your user profile.

You can also update the Custom Description name on the claims screen for the individual mod file as well.
Simply select the edit pencil and enter a new name for the column. This will now be the new column name for the mod file and will also be the name used on the Custom Description Reports.
